FansPredict — a First Look

FansPredict is a peer to peer prediction platform which will operate on Lepricon’s own gas-free blockchain, Leprichain. The purpose of this article is to update our community on its progress.
FansPredict has been in development for nearly six months, led by our Lead Game Designer, David Phalaris, and developed in conjunction with BePro, the same brains behind Polkamarkets. Participants will be able to stake their L3P across several categories including sports, e-sports, celebrity and entertainment, and politics.
The type of question could be “Will the price of ETH pass $10,000 on or before Dec 31, 2021?” or “Will Meryl Streep win her fourth Oscar at the 2022 Academy Awards?” If it is a real-world event, then it should work for FansPredict.
FansPredict will run on Leprichain, Lepricon’s gas-free Ethereum-compatible sidechain and use L3P as the base token for prediction pools. As there is no gas, joining individual prediction pools will be easy and painless as you click approve on your MetaMask and see that the gas fee is set to zero gwei.

Where are we now?
One does not just jump in and start coding something like this. It is a complex beast.
We started work with BePro in April. The first three months or so were spent planning the entire prediction ecosystem, getting to fully understand the Smart Contracts that would be deployed and building the rather complex Game Design Document that would act as the bible for the physical development of FansPredict.
It was in August that we began coding FansPredict. To date we have:
- Finished the site design
- Built the superstructure of the website (hosted at our super-secret online development facility)
- Built the website using language packs so that the interface can be multi-lingual
- Completed the Web 3 wallet logon for MetaMask, profile management, and implemented the smart contracts that support it
- Created the back end prediction market administration system that manages all the available predictions, categories, and allows us to add liquidity to them
- Implemented the home page, profile page, and category pages, and individual event pages
At the time of writing, we are now executing the meaty part. In other words, the interface that enables an individual to participate in an individual liquidity pool. The sprint to complete this section should be finished within the next two weeks. Once this is finished the whole thing will come alive. For example, you will see the pool progress graphs on the event page (see screenshot above).
Future Development
One of the interesting things about FansPredict is that it is designed to accommodate special events. For example, an entire section, a mini-site if you like, could be designed around the Academy Awards, or the Olympics, with dedicated design touches. These events can be held in partnership with other organisations. This will enable us to do tightly defined marketing campaigns around specific human interests, rather than broad “make your prediction here” campaigns. It is this built-in flexibility that we believe will set FansPredict apart.
Oh, and the fact that there is no gas fee to pay every time you join a prediction pool!
FansPredict is slated to launch in early Q1 in 2022. L3P Club members will be given early access to the Beta version once primary development is complete.
About Lepricon
Lepricon is reimagining the possibilities for entertainment through blockchain technology and seeking to establish the general acceptance of player-owned economies in games. These solutions are built upon and powered by Leprichain, with the intent to create a drag and drop blockchain solution for mainstream game developers.
Entertainment:
Lepricon is developing several in-house entertainment activities that operate on Leprichain, including our collection of arcade and carnival games at Lepricon City. The first games are straightforward, but we will develop more complex games that demonstrate Leprichain’s capabilities over time. We will leverage these demonstration games to encourage third party dApp developers to deploy on Leprichain.
DeFi:
Leprichain and all of the dApps that run on it are powered by our ERC-20 utility token, L3P. Lepricon’s DeFi portal will enable L3P holders to manage their tokens, participate in governance, and benefit from advanced yield-earning activities. Lepricon’s DeFi portal will launch towards the end of the fourth quarter of 2021.
