And The Winner Is…

We now have winners for the Crypto Pills. Here are the numbers:

• Investors purchased several million L3P
• Over 14,000 people filled in the Google form
• Nearly 2000 new people followed Lepricon on Twitter`

After comparing snapshots and then merging all wallet holders with the wallet addresses provided in the Google form entries, we have a result.

There are nine winners.

Actually, no, there are eight. One of the winners supplied L3P’s contract as their wallet. This attempt was very creative, but we would know that contract anywhere.

In the spirit of total transparency, here are all the results and details on how we got to the final results. The data is mostly publicly available information you could work out for yourselves if you downloaded the information from either Etherscan or Leprichain’s blockchain explorer.

Analysis of the Snapshots

We held the first Snapshot at 10:00 am UTC on Friday 29th October. The second snapshot was taken on Friday 12th November at 8:00 am. We downloaded holder data from Etherscan, and Leprichain’s explorer added holdings across the two chains for each wallet and merged the two snapshots into one document. Click this sentence to see the data for yourself.

Some interesting facts:

• 27 new wallets accumulated 7,148,979 L3P. And that is just on-chain. Over two million dollars worth of L3P was traded on gate.io during the promotion. But, as this is a CEX, we cannot see much more information than that.
• The net on-chain accumulation of L3P between snapshots was 5,262,440.
• 345 wallets accumulated a total of 13,170,873 L3P between them.
• 2517 wallets did not change their holdings (there is a lot of shrapnel in those wallets)
• 35 wallets sold a total of 7,908,435.
• We cannot see individual transactions on the central exchanges in the same detail, but 75% of all volume during the period was on Gate.io. Gate.io wallet accumulated over 8 million L3P during this period from Mainnet.

What we do know is that this promotion drew a massive increase in eyeballs to Lepricon’s digital footprint. It injected new life into our telegram group and our social media presence. The impact on the token price was clear, and the awareness of and interest in Lepricon grew. The overall outcome was a good thing. We have learned a lot from the entire activity, which we intend to put to good use.

But it also revealed some issues that we must address. Most notably is that gas fees are killing small-cap Ethereum-based tokens. And in our case, the situation is exacerbated by the fact that our current staking and developing game platform requires tokens to traverse Ethereum, especially from central exchanges such as Gate.io. The initial results from the Crypto Pill giveaway combined with a tremendous amount of community feedback led to the decision to prioritise listing the token on Binance Smart Chain immediately.

To the Google Form

14,227 “people” filled in the Google Form. I put the word people in quotes because I cannot be sure there are not a few (i.e. a lot) of automated responses.

Google allows us to download the responses in a CSV file, which we did. This file we cannot share because it has personally identifiable information contained within it.

Our methodology was to loop through the Google form data and search for each address in the snapshot file. We would dismiss any that did not have L3P, and if participants did not complete the bounty activities and submit the form, they were not eligible.

We used excel macros to compare first. Then we wrote a PHP script that looped through the google data, searching for matches in the snapshot data. Both methods produced the same result. We had a different programmer write a script to compare, and again, the result was the same.

Out of 14,227 form entries, only nine matched addresses in the snapshot, and as mentioned above, one of those was our token contract address!

The question is, how did this happen?

The obvious hypothesis is that the most pronounced effect of this promotion, with the viral tweets and notable press coverage, was simply awareness of the project. A lot of people landed within our digital footprint, and some decided to take positions.

The Pills created the draw, but the interest was in the company.

Meanwhile, what about those 14,000 plus entries?

The answer to that is also most likely the obvious one. With a total following of over a quarter of a million people, some notable influencers tweeted out about the giveaway but neglected to mention the essential condition; that you must hold L3P. We made it as crystal clear on the form as possible, but it is pretty evident that no one reads the fine print!

To the Winners

And so, who won the pills.

With just eight wallets left at the end, we decided to take the top eight Crypto Pills reserved for the largest bag holders, or Pool A, as was described in the launch article.

We placed those eight wallets in a Random.org draw so that they fell into a random order. We have paired those eight wallets with the associated pill from the list in their order of rarity. In other words, the first wallet drawn will receive the pill with the highest rarity score.

Lepricon will transmit the Crypto Pills on Monday and announce on Twitter, Telegram and Discord that we have done so. You are invited to share the pill you won on social media. Still, we will not publish that information as we will not disclose identifying information about our token holders.

In Conclusion

We are delighted that we ran this competition. Many outcomes have had a very positive effect on awareness of, interest in, and holdings in Lepricon. We have plenty of these pills left, and we will do more giveaways, some in the form of competitions, some as giveaways to our long-standing community members to say thank you for their support.

The remaining Crypto Pills will stay in the Leprivault for now.

Lepricon’s DeFi portal will launch towards the end of the fourth quarter of 2021.
